Neck and Back Massage is a type of deep tissue massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This type of massage is best suited for treating musculoskeletal issues, and people with sports injuries or chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia that targets the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.
How does it work?
Deep tissue massage on the neck and back works on chronic muscle tension and injury that leaves discomfort or pain on tendons and ligaments. In our body, adhesions can block during blood circulation and may cause unbearable pain, limitation in movement, and inflammation. Especially this type of massage will be helpful for chronic aches and contracted areas in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia which covers from neck to hip joints.
Session Includes
Classic, Thai, Tui Na, and Trigger Point Massage from well-trained practitioners and reflexology specialists.
Classic (or Swedish) massage is a gentle form of hand touch massage that includes kneading, stretching, and rolling to reduce friction and aches by covering from neck to back muscles.
Thai massage is an alternative form of classic massage. In this technique, you will be experiencing rigorous massage with warm oil and includes pulls, stretches, and muscle compression rather than kneading on the upper back and neck.
Tui Na is a Chinese form of massage that adapts acupressure techniques and compression on reflex points to relieve pain and to re-establish proper energy flow around the body.
You can expect a session of about 30 to 90 minutes which also includes classic massage such as rolling, kneading, gliding, and pressing the muscles in your neck and back.
At Foot Relief, we do have trigger point therapists who are specialized in providing full professional back and neck massage sessions which includes all the combinations of Classic, Thai and Tui Na massage therapies.
Our therapist will begin the session with basic procedures of back and neck massage with small circles on the upper half of the body by extending the thumb towards spine to collar line.
You will also experience gentle massage on your shoulder. Our therapist will place the forearm at the sides of the neck and roll them by rotating at the wrists. After several rotations, they will lift your forearms and move them a couple of inches away from the neck and repeat again.
Finally, the therapist comes back to the center of the body and repeats the massaging process for two more times.
